About Bataan
Bataan is known for its significant involvement in World War II and for how the infamous march, the Bataan Death March, had started in this province. The Battle of Bataan happened before the march when the United States of America and the Philippine Commonwealth united against the Japanese Forces.
A classic heritage resort is the Las Casa Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan that leaves its visitors the impression that they have traveled back in time to their Filipino ancestors. The ruins of Corregidor Island display the canons and tunnels of the past while some nature-lovers set foot to the Five Fingers in Mariveles, Bataan for cove-to-cove hopping.
The first Supreme Court Chief Justice of the Philippine Republic is Cayetano Arellano, from Bataan. Mel Tianco, a popular television host and head of GMA Kapuso Foundation, and Tomas Pinpin, the “Prince of Filipino Printers,” come from Bataan.
