About Southern Leyte
It was in Southern Leyte that the first Christian Mass was held, and because of this, the province is called the Philippines’ Birthplace of Christianity. During the period in which the Spanish colonized the country, the area was not very populated because of the raiding of Moro slaves, which discouraged any growth in population and development.
Princess Ryan, a Filipina-Irish actress, Michael Dadap, an advocate for Filipino folk music, and Albert Pagara, a professional boxer, were born in this province.
The Rosmin Farm is a resort, and a farm destination combines, offering a view of the waters from their cottages. The Hot Spring in Mainit Village has lured visitors for its rumored healing properties.
